Giving thanks in Doha to US soldiers!

In addition to our celebration with friends, we were invited to a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration today, by our good friends the Junods. Today was about celebrating with friends and taking a moment and celebrating with some of the US service men and women that are stationed here in Doha. It was such an honor to be a part of today. It was amazing to see such a group of people come together for a special holiday.

As we walked up to the clubhouse we were greeted by the American flag and the feel of Thanksgiving.

Everyone gathered together holding hands to say a prayer over the group especially the soldiers and a blessing over the food.

It was quite the food table, we had all the fixings it was fabulous!

Proud to be an American!

Holiday decor all around.

Some wonderful friends Wendi and Brenda.

Kim and Jamie Saleh, I have gotten to know Kim over that last few months and I'm lucky to get to call her a friend, she definitely knows how to make me smile!

It was a packed house, there were about 50+ service men and women there, it was such a joy to be able to celebrate with them.

Even poolside seating.

Lindsay Harris and her son Cres, such a cute family!

Thanksgiving in Doha

This is our 2nd Thanksgiving Holiday in Doha, it is still hard to get use to not being with family around the holidays and to be in warm weather climate, but we at least have friends who fill in that void and we all celebrate together. This year our great friends Mary and Curtis hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving. Once again it was an International affair. We had friends from Czech, Germany, London and Qatar with us to celebrate this holiday and who were interested in learning the history of Thanksgiving. We have been so blessed these last 2 years as a family with all these new adventures and experiences. We are expecting another miracle any week now and couldn't have had a better Thanksgiving to give thanks!!

Hannah is all dressed up and ready to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Our last Thanksgiving family photo of four!

These are just a few of the guys that work with Mike and that were able to celebrate with us.

Poor Richard works so hard, he didn't even have turkey yet so we can't blame a turkey coma!

Good friend Lucie from Czech.

I've never made gravy (I don't care for it) so just my luck Dean was there to save Thanksgiving and whipped up some fabulous gravy for everyone! Curtis did the honors of craving the Turkey's!

Jenny and Lynn were a blessing and there to help with clean up and getting things set up.

The Myers family.

Emily and Hannah playing ponies and barbies before dinner.

Best buds Judah and Nathan, not sure what we would do without Judah around!

The girls of Thanksgiving...Esther, Hina, Mary, Me and Lucie.

A few appetizers to start dinner off.

Some yummy yummy turkey ready for us to dive in!

I decided the kids needed a craft to do so here they are busy coloring some Thanksgiving pics and then gluing some dried beans to them. There are some wonderful masterpieces being created at this table!!

Our wonderful friends Luisa and Sebastian from Germany.

There is a "Sprinkle" in the air

One thing about Doha is you are always meeting someone new. We have met some wonderful new friends from Texas and have been so grateful to be able to hang out with their family. Wendi was so sweet and had a "sprinkle" for Madison and I down at our favorite place the Souq. She has been a wonderful support for me as she has also had a baby here, so I have consumed her with 100 questions about the experience, thank goodness for her! Some of my close friends were there and we enjoyed some great conversation and some wonderful food!! Thank you Wendi and everyone for thinking of me and Madison during this very special time, it meant the world to us!! Such a warm memory of Doha and this pregnancy experience in a different country, Madison will look back and be amazed at where she was born.

The table was decorated with these beautiful flowers and favors that were filled with the most delicious cupcake!

Here I am 9 months pregnant and ready any time for Madison to make her arrival.

My "girl" support in Doha!

My sweetest and closest friend in Doha...Mary! My kids absolutely love her!

Rebecca, Naomi and Luisa, these girls have been amazing through this all and such wonderful and sweet friends.

Esther and Wendi such positive girls!!

Another group shot.

We ate at this wonderful restaurant that had amazing food.

Halloumi Cheese is such a staple here in Doha and we just love it. This is done to perfection and the best tasting in Doha!

My yummy yummy food!

Madison received some gorgeous outfits, socks and shoes! Mommy also received some body wash and some PJs for the hospital.

Me and my new sweet friend Wendi the host of the sprinkle!

The kids came home from school excited to see cupcakes in jar! They were a hit for a after school snack!!
